Maple Leaf HIFU is pleased to announce that it has been accredited as a trial site for the Ablatherm Integrated Imaging High Intensity Focused
Ultrasound for the Indication of Low Risk, Localized Prostate Cancer clinical trial and is currently recruiting
patients for inclusion. Details on inclusion and
exclusion criteria can be found at http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00295802,
but these are briefly listed below:

• T-1 or T-2a
• 50 years of age and older
• Gleason score equal to or less than 6
• Prostate volume < 40 cc
• AP Diameter < 25 mm
  

Pre and post treatment visits will be conducted in Hamilton while the actual treatment will be undertaken at our Toronto clinic at 64 Prince Arthur Street.

Follow up period is 24 months. There is no cost to patients accepted in the trial. The primary investigator is Dr. William Orovan, Maple Leaf HIFU’s Medical Director and Dr. Magdy Hassouna and Dr. Edward Woods have been nominated as Co-Investigators.
