William L. Orovan, M.D. FRCS(C), FACS (Medical Director)
Dr. William Orovan is a Urological Surgeon certified as a fellow
by the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also a Diplomat of the
American Board of Urology. Dr. Orovan has a long standing interest
in urological cancer and has completed post-fellowship training
in this area at the University of Texas System Cancer Center,
M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Orovan has acted as Dean of the Facility of Health Sciences
at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario and as Chair of the
Department of Surgery at that institution.
Dr. Orovan's clinical practice is currently limited to Urological
Oncology. Dr. Orovan has held various administrative positions
in healthcare in Ontario including President of the Ontario Medical
Association in 2000.
Dr. John Warner
Dr. John Warner is a University of British Columbia trained
Urological Surgeon board-certified by the American College of
Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of
Canada. He completed a 3 year urologic oncology fellowship at
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City where
he was involved in extensive research into the basic science
of prostate cancer. His work is published in such prestigious
journals as The New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer, and
Prostate.
Dr. Warner continues to be involved in prostate cancer research
on a clinical level and his work can be found in the Journal
of Urology.
Dr. Warner is currently a consultant Urologist to the Fraser
Health Authority with an active clinical practice limited to
Urologic Oncology.
Dr. Edward Woods
Dr. Edward Woods is a Toronto Urologist on staff at Scarborough
General Hospital since 1988. He holds certification as a Fellow
of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
He is Canadian born but raised in the United States. Dr. Woods
completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Washington
University in St. Louis. He then moved to Canada for his medical
and urologic training at the University of Toronto. Following
his urologic training, Dr. Woods completed a clinical fellowship
at the Toronto Western Hospital.
Dr. Woods has a specific interest in new technologies in urology,
including the use of lasers and minimally invasive bladder techniques
and surgery.
Dr. Woods is also actively involved in clinical research in
benign prostatic hypertrophy and prostate cancer.
Magdy M Hassouna, M.D. FRCS(C), FACS
Dr. M. Hassouna completed his training in Urology and received
his Ph.D. from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec. Dr Hassouna
is certified as a Fellow by the American College of Surgeons
and by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr.
Hassouna is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Hassouna is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University
of Toronto and has an active clinical practice at the University
Health Network. In addition he is also a consultant to the Lyndhurst
Rehabilitation Centre and to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in
Toronto.
Dr. Hassouna is a Senior Investigator at the Toronto Western
Hospital Research Institute where his research has focused on
treatment of lower urinary tract disorders including Prostate
Cancer.
